So glad to find this thread. The dealer said new window, auto glass shops pushed the conductive epoxy road and the user reviews of those epoxy kits were mixed at all-time.

I was worried that the glass would shatter due to the heat from the soldering fe merely it was fine. I just needed to exist patient and let the iron do its work. The push button tab seems solid merely I still need to examination information technology.

Thank you!

Then glad to find this thread. The dealer said new window, auto glass shops pushed the conductive epoxy route and the user reviews of those epoxy kits were mixed at best.

I was worried that the drinking glass would shatter due to the oestrus from the soldering iron only it was fine. I only needed to exist patient and let the atomic number 26 do its work. The button tab seems solid but I still need to test it.

Give thanks yous!

UPDATE:
Welp, it held until I went wheeling. The contact gave style again, probably due to the jarring. My solder job wasn't practiced enough. I will practice a more thorough job of sanding downwardly the old residue and making certain I lay down enough solder. Volition update again.

UPDATE 2:
Sanded and cleaned surfaces, loaded up push tab with more than solder. This time, the solder refused to hold onto the defroster. I also tried soldering onto the area just outside the original spot. I'm outta ideas and now because the Frost Fighter epoxy product.

UPDATE 3:
OP'southward use of flux is key to making a solid solder connectedness. I picked upwardly flux, applied it to the original spot on the defroster and a niggling on the push tab. Bam, the iron made quick work of melting the solder I had "tinned" onto the push button. It's been a couple of days and it'south all the same holding on.
